This forum is very informative! The 2 questions are:
(1) According to my Clymer Shop Manual, my OMC 4.3L oil filter can be replaced by another oil filter (AC) PF-51. I picked up a PF-52. According to the oil filter spec. sheet, it will fit a GM 4.3L engine, so what's the difference? Did I get the wrong filter?
(2) According to my Clymer Shop Manual, my engine uses unleaded (mid grade) 89 octane fuel. This is with the stock timing at 6 degrees BTDC. It can also use unleaded (regular) 86 octane with the timing retarded to 1 degree BTDC. How much of an effect will it have on the engine/performance if I use regular unlead fuel?
I appreciate any feedback. Thank-you.
