Thanks for the help guys. I never thought there would be so many strong opinions about a subject. I'm going to call the previous owner and asked what he used. After almost 10 years the motor does run well so he must have been doing something right.

Again, thanks for the help.

Pat

Well, I got home and got my cold Bud open. I'm kinda dissapointed though. This thread appears to be slowing down. :(

There goes the microwave....gotta get my popcorn.

Bruce...Yeah I checked it out when I got home last night and I had nothing to drink to, at least not here, I still managed to find something to drink to. Anyway I think the phrase is "beating a dead horse" on this one.

People are gonna use what they want. If I could see some actual proof that the more expensive oils performed better or the syntetics lubed better, I'd probably cough up the extra money too, but to date it seems like everything gets contradicted and I always come back to the cheaper, but as good stuff.

Prabably the first and last time I'll post on an "oil thread"....but..IMHO...no matter who's oil you use, it still boils down to basic engine PM and care. No oil is perfect and no matter which oil you use your still gonna' get ash (carbon) left behind. Some, more than others.
OK...that's all I got to say.

I ain't got no synthetic butter DHP....but I got some synthetic blend oil we can put over it. OH...and I'm outta' Bud.
