So in terms of older used small (3 to 6HP) outboards, what are some recommendations for a trolling motor ? I've been told Mercs are FAR easier to get parts for, but some people say the late 60's Johnny/Rudes 5 HP and 2 strokes can't be beat for quiet operation.
My priority is lower vibration / noise BUT stay under 6 HP, prefer 4 HP if at all possible. And stay away from 1 cylinder, either 2 or 4 troke. Any recommendations ? Years ? brands ?

Does anyone even know if there are 4 HP 2 stroke, 2 Cylinder motors out there ?
