20' plate boat and 1986 150hp mariner outboard console steering question

hey guys,

just bought a 20' plate boat and a 1986 mariner 150hp outboard.i purchased the boat and trailer,then motor seperate.the motor came with all controls,wiring and dual cables.my question is i do not have a steering wheel or helm.any chance of matching up a wheel and helm to these cables or buy a new steering system.

after researching till my eyes almost bleed there are several kits to choose from,single,dual.some cables look to be thicker than others.if you recommend new what kit would you use for my application.

does the boat amnufacturer sell consoles?

maybe check the restoration forums. there are home-made consoles around.

I think you should treat yourself to a second transom strap.
