Guys

I recently came across a deal that i could not pass up. It is a 20 ft seaark that previously had a fiberglass sundeck, the previous owner removed it and just the aluminum bracing is left. i was thinking of decking it with wood and putting some sort of non skid on it .

Can anyone tell me if i can use marine grade plywood with just a nonskid (rhino lining or similar) or should i put some sort of epoxy on it first.
What size plywood should i go with? i know the spacing of the braces make a difference so i am trying to keep them around 16".

any suggestions are greatly appreciated, topview boat.jpg

Welcome to iBoats!

You can use Arauco Plywood from Lowes or Home Depot. Almost void free and 100% waterproof glue in the laminates. You will need to coat it with some kind of protectant. Either Poly resin with mat and cloth or Epoxy and Cloth. If you use Poly you can gelcoat the surface if Epoxy then you cannot gelcoat it but you could paint, use the rhino liner or all kinds of various surfacing agents. Lot's of options. Search the forum for Deck Replacement and you'll find a bunch of pics and descriptions on how to do this.
