Hello,

I have a Wellcraft v20 (20'6") and a '78 90hp Merc. I have no idea what prop is currently on the motor (it came from a 16' Starcraft Trihull). What propeller would be a good start to try out with this boat? The boat weighs 1920lbs, and loaded, perhaps 2400lbs. If loaded for a long trip I can imagine weights to 2700-2800lbs with extra fuel and food or with passengers.

I don't have any idea where to start. I see pitches from 9" to 25", but they are all about 13" diameter. This boat will be underpowered with this motor, so I can guesstimate a smaller pitch prop.

Thanks,

Sincerely, Robert.

In order to select the best prop we need the prop size(usually on the barrel),
and the present max rpm and speed.Even with that info prop selection is still somewhat of a best guess.

the 90 on the big wellcraft will be a bit sluggish you may want to use four blade it wont get sopeed up but should push well loaded.whats that boat rated for 140
