1992 200hp Evinrude 6 cylinder model E 200 CX ENE missing on one cylinder. Changed spark plug, coil, plug wire. After running at high speed for 5-10 minutes kicks in and runs fine. Is power pack bad and needs to be replaced?

Shrevehog,May be a powerpack trying to fail.If I may ask,how did you determine that one particular cylinder wasn't firing?Did one plug look excessively wet?

Shrevehog, the best way to check your powerhead is to do a compression test. When doing this all the readings should be the same or close to the same. If on is different do not run the motor untill you get it checked. Good Luck with it.

ob, I put a timing light on all the spark plug wires and found one cylinder not getting fire. I changed the coil, wire, and plug to that cylinder and it still didn't fire. The plug was not wet. Rick93 The compression shouldn't make the plug not fire should it?

shrevehog, Sounds more and more like a powerpack failing.Try swapping two of the powerpack leads to different coils and while cranking see if your non firing cylinder moves.
