200 hp merc not running well

I did notice the trigger seems really sloppy in its pivot mounting. Is this normal? I have not worked on this particular motor before.

A little "sloppy" is ok. Can't really get outta whack with everything in place.
Haven't ever heard or seen it referred (any merc parts list) as that either. Was tha replacement new?

I've got tha manual on file if ya need it. pm an email and i'll try ta send it..........

That explains it. Not a big fan of their "repaired" parts which I think you'll discover with a little diggin'........That also explains why I never heard it called tcm. They're tha only ones callin' it that. Enter tha Merc part number (857185T1)
on their site and see what comes up.........jmo, gl with it.
