Gentlemen,

Have a question for you. A friend of mine has a 200 hp vindicator that is sounding a constant alarm at WOT(goes away if he backs off, he is not over REVs either). At first I thought it might be the Impeller. We did replace it and he has much better Water Presure. I am leaning toward a fuel delivery problem. The motor has oil, is not overheating.

Any ideas?

Sounds like the fuel restriction alarm.Maybe your tank isnt vented properly.Run it with the cap of your tank and see if the alarm goes away.

thank you for this great information, i passed it onto my friend. He will try it the next time he is on the water. If anyone else has any ideas of trouble shooting this please let us know. His motor seems to run great. Not stuttering or over heating. just this pesky alarm at WOT

That is the fuel restriction alarm. There is no alarm for "over revs", just the rev limiter - should be at 6700 on that motor.

The fuel restriction could be one or a combo of several things. A sticking anti-siphon valve, plugged vent, fuel lines deteriorating on the inside, pinched fuel line and so on.
