200 johnson wont start

I have a 200 johnson 1997 went to hook up hour meter to battery gauge before i did i checked the polarity but my meter was left on ohms my mistake well now i have no battery at all when i turn key switch could Ive just blown a fuse need help where to look hecked obvious fuse panel no dice also would it be ok to hoiok my hour meter to battery gauge appreciate some feedback to this problem

Check the main fuse on the engine wiring harness.

Yep...what Alden said. I believe that engine has the automotive type fuse.....flat two prong thing.

checked that 20amp fuse not blown

Blitzman....are you sure you checked the right fuse.....there is a spare there......just want to be sure.

thanks fellas found the problem had a neg cable on wrong neg terminal duel batterys live and learn now if I only can pass the boating coare LOL!!!!
