When just trolling along, seems like the motor has LOTS of steam? no overheat Out in the rain, (in a hail storm no less) it was really STEAMING good. Have never seen an OB do that before. Even in no rain situation it does have a decent steam trail Anybody else? Perhaps I am just paranoid.

Re: 200 Ocean Pro

Dear Paranoid in Illinois.....sorry, anita, just had to do that.. :D :D

Just a couple questions....are you sure the over heat horn works? Was there any deviation in the performance of the engine? Did you remove the cover and put your pinky on the head to see how hot is was?

I know, bunch of questions. Ya' see, even though you got a good stream of water, your t-stats, you have two, one for each head, can fail close and cause either head to over heat. What to do is, put a set of ears on her in the drive way and fire her up. Keep the cover off so you can feel the flat spots on top just forward of the heads. If you can keep your fingers on them for a few seconds before removing them, then you should be good to go. If you have to pull your fingers off real quick off of either flat spot, then either the pump impeller is weak or the t-stat has failed. Keep us posted. Thanks!
