200 XP not charging

Hey guys, my 1990 XP 200 isn't charging and the tach has stopped working! Can anyone share some trouble shooting tips before I take it in!

Check your rectifier.

probably the regulator went south. the tach gets its pulse from that. Loose or dirty battery cables will take the regulator out real quick as will voltage spikes. Test the regulator
