I have a 2000 Searay with a 5.0 merc. engine. When I run for 30 min or more and then slow to no wake speed It will sometimes die and I have to remove the fuel filter and put fuel in it. What would cause air to get into the filter. All lines seem fine and tight.

Either the vent line to the tank is clogging, or the antisiphon valve is clogging.

When motor dies, remove the gas cap and listen for air to suck in. If you hear air sucking in, then its the tank vent line

The antisiphon valve is on the top of the tank and has the rubber fuel line connected to it going to your filter. It has a spring loaded check ball in side and can get clogged

Oh and this isn't a searay problem its a Merc problem
