Learned alot on this forum, and now have a problem of my own. Motor was laid up for 3 years, but not properly. By that, not run dry, or fogged. Not by me mind you. Know better. Had carb rebuilt, new plugs, impeller, decarbed, gone over by Yammie tech. Ran great on 3 different occasions for about an hour each. Its on a Sears 12' tinnie. Fourth time out, was surging a bit at 3/4 throttle, went to idle and it stalls out. Primer ball good, tank vent open, no overheat . When I disconnect fuel line from engine, does seem to be under alot of pressure. A little fuel shoots out. Reconnect, and pull on it til arm ready to fall out of socket. Paddle to shore. Next day, check under the cowl fuel filter - fine. Blow out all lines from carb back to tank, through the primer bulb - seems fine. 1st pull starts up, and idles fine. Let it run 10 - 15 min. in neutral a bit above idle, and then it stalls and won't start again. Next day, give it a few pulls and it starts. Again, let it idle in neutral for about 10 - 15 min., put it in gear at the dock with it tied up at idle speed - fine. Under a little load - fine. I'm ready for a ride down the river. Takes about another 10 min. to load up saftey/fishin' gear, put it in gear - STALLS. Won't restart. HELP!!! My oil mix is 75:1 vs. the 100:1 it calls for.

First, use 50:1 oil mix, check fuel filters and electrical contact from sensors .

delfinasul, WOW, a post from Romania!!! Talk about a global forum. I was a little concerned about going to a 50:1 for fear of too much oil. Thats why the happy middle of the road. The in line screen filter is fine, its a new portable tank/primer/fuel line, fresh fuel. Lanyard cut out connections seem fine. Thanks for the suggestions.

if the throttle body is exposed then start engine and just let the end of a clean rag float into the throat in engine speed increases then your to lean ethier mix is wrong or debree in carb

I'm no expert but it sounds to me that your float needle is sticking closed, not allowing fuel to get to motor, also causing the fuel in bowl that's left to burn and cause the engine to keep building up fuel pressure, trying to get it to carb. but it can't 'cause the needle valve is stuck shut. It will finally unstick while sitting over night but when it sticks again while you're running it it stalls again. Try LIGHTLY tapping on the carb when it stalls while holding slight pressure on bulb to see if it suddenly lets fuel flow. If it does, fix your float needle, sometimes the neoprene tip will be sticky. hope this helps, i've had a similar problem and this fixed it.

redtech / jb - Thanks for the latest suggestions. I'll give it a try and post back as to the results. Positive feeback is always a good thing. Jim
