2000 evinrude 200 hp

my motor idles too high after it warms in the water.<br />idles about 1000-1100 rpm's <br />gears in lower unit make a heck of noise when i put it in gear<br />how do i set the idle and what is the correct rpm's in neutral

The computer on your motor regulates the idle speed. It sounds like your throttle position sensor is not adjusted correctly and you need a laptop or PDA, diagnostic software, and the interface cable to accomplish that. YOu should have a QUALIFIED tech check the system out for you.

I agree with "seahorse" you may also have a fuel pump diaphram leaking allowing uncontrolled fuel to enter engine this is BAD (understatement) take it too a quailfied mechanic ASAP if fuel pump is leaking? the gas is diluting the oil in the moter

marinemech just wondering,which oil in the motor is getting diluted.Is it in the oil pressure pump?<br />DHP
