2000 Evinrude 40hp four-stroke wiring harness question

I just hooked up a new 40hp four-stroke and it runs great, but the System Check tach/lights do not work. I'm not sure if my gauge is bad, or if the motor isn't cabled completely. I have enough hooked up to make it run, at any rate.<br /><br />The wiring harness that I'm using has "extra" plugs on both ends. The owner's manual that I have does not show what should be wired on the engine end. Does someone have a handle on what plugs need to be connected on the engine side? I can't find any "extra" connectors on the engine that aren't hooked up to something.<br /><br />-rus-<br />iboats (at) greengoo.net
