2000 Evinrude 90

[Really Old Guy]

H! I'm new to this side, I have several Mercs.
I have an oportunity to pick up a 90 hrs, 2000 Evinrude.
Claims the on board (?) computer says it has 35 hours and has
been sitting in an old guys garage.
I've purchased bridges before.
On board chip? and what else could go wrong?

is this a FICHT motor, or carbed motor? model #?

It is a Fitch. I do not know the model#.
I'll ask tomorrow.

as long as all the updates are done to it. it might be OK. but i would rather have a carbed motor.

You google fitch and your gonna find abercrombie with it, its FICHT.

Yes, I stepped right into that one!
I have not heard from the guy since I posted this.
I am going to call a Evinrude guy, I know about buying one of
his.

It's pronounced "Ficht" and not "Fitch". You would not like the price of the ECM if that becomes a problem. Most of the Ficht issues were with the bigger engines.

Well my boating years may be few, that's why the 35 hours looked good.
Like I said, he has not contacted me since I ask the original question,
including the 'spelling'. That was a few days ago, you would think,
I showed some interest, that he would be all over me.
It's very over priced and old (like me)
I have passed on this one,
