I have a 2000 Evinrude that has about 75 hours on it. I have replaced the oil pump and one injector. I do troll with the motor but when running I typically keeep it 3500 - 4000 RPM.
Is this s good RPM range or is it beeter to run higher. I tend to baby my bpats so I am some what concerened about running any higher? Any thoughts?

Hi, Ted.

Evinrude offered about a dozen models in 2000.

Which one do you have?

Hi JB I have a Evinrude Ficht 150 HP This is the model year 2000. My brother has the same year motro but it its on a 175HP. He fishes fresh water tournements so he only know one speed flat WOT. I fish salt water out of a 21 foot Seaswril Striper. I do not run my boat WOT but I want to make sure I am not hurting it by running 3500 - 4000 RPM or trolling. Ted :)

Hi, Ted.

3500-4000rpm is a satisfactory cruising rpm for your engine, provided you can get it at 60-75% throttle.

At 100% throttle you should reach at least 5500rpm. That would indicate that you have a correct prop. It your WOT rpm is significantly more or less than that you need to confirm that your engine is in good tune, then select a better prop.

Good luck. :)
