Ok so my new 2001 lowe that quit running on me apparently needs a fuel pump lift kit. Here's where the saga begins with the mechanic. Two weeks into this and now my $300 estimate has turned into $1000. He ordered a pump kit for a 2000 FICHT which took a week to get. He calls me yesterday and says the motor has apparently had updates done and has a newer (guessing 2003) lift pump on it, which can not be rebuilt. A new pump is $700 bucks. Is there anyone that can chime in on this with some insight?
