2000 Johnson 225 Presure relief valve

had off. now back on and leaks! does anyone use rtv around it? Comes with no gasket. Just seal plunger and spring.

help..my book does not cover this at all :(

That little 1" round o-ring seat thing...did you put it back in BACKWARDS?
There is writing on it saying which side goes toward what. Cannot remember exactly what it says...

EDIT: OMC manual covers it on page 4-31. seat has "TO CYL. HEAD" written on it.

yes..."to cyl head" is to the block.

I put a small bead of red-rtv arounf the flange....well see how that does.

So it is in backwards.
It says "to cyl head", not "to block".

The writing goes toward the plastic valve, away from the block side.

Quote from the book:

" Place spring and valve in the valve cover. Install the seat with the side marked "TO CYL. HEAD" facing the valve."
