Im down for vacation and my motor is turning very slow.tried 3 different battery s. Checked ground wires. Could the starter be bad? Any help would be great. Even bypassed the battery cables and went straight to motor with cables..
Get a 1/2 wrench and some sand paper. Disconnect your battery. Pull ALL the wire connections one at a time, sand them and re-install tight. 90% of all starter problems are connection issues. While you are at it - pull the insulation back on your battery cables and look for green corrosion - if it's there it might be a good time to visit interstate battery and have new cables made.
A corroded positive and or ground will create super high resistance and rob power to the starter and the cables will actually get warm to hot.
Funny thing is I start it withv the rope and run it for 2-3 hrs fishing it will start with key. I put it on the trailer and try it the next day it won't turn over.
