Just got a great deal on a Larson 206 LXI, open bow, 5.0 Merc I/O. But the family before me neglected to put a cover on the boat. I bought it thinking no big deal. I have had the interior completely replaced and it looks great. Now I need new dash trim pieces, a new steering wheel and a new glove box door. I know i can replace the steering wheel with an aftermarket one and that is ok with me. Where do I find the other pieces? Larson told me to start calling around or have them custom made. This boat is only 12 years old, why can't I find parts????? Please help.

Automakers are only required to carry parts for ten years, why should boats be any different? I'm guessing salvage yards are going to be your best bet. Without knowing your location, I'm guessing you are in the snow belt, digging will be tough.

Boats aren't like cars, a small run of cars will be 200,000-300,000 where they may have made 40-50 of your boat and being small companies they can't have extra parts sitting around forever.

Generally they will order enough to finish a model run and that is it, if there are extra parts they will save them for a few years if they have the room.

As stated, a bone yard or save what you have is your best option, could you maybe paint or get a vinyl overlay for your exising parts?

Thanks for the suggestions so far. I've called all around, including Doug Russell, without any luck. I can't even find an aftermarket part, except steering wheels. Sanding and painting would be an option except the pieces are cracked and peeling beyond repair. I'll keep digging...... my 1993 Rinker was easier to find parts for than this

Thanks for all the suggestions. Still haven't found a solution. I can not find one available dash kit new or used.

Welcome to restoring a boat. Many of the interior parts (glove box doors, windshields, guages, etc.) are not brand specific. A junk boat of a different brand will have some of these parts that will fit your boat. As for the specific trim pieces, time to buy a piece of plastic or glass to cut to shape of the dash and cut holes for the gauges.

Lots of this stuff is not necessary. Are you trying to make a show boat out of a 12 year old back yard rotter?

If the trim pieces were flat i would def be able to cut out and make my own. But of course they are rounded and angeled so it's not that easy. I know they aren't a necessity because my gauges still work but looks like crap.

Everything else in the boat looks great except the dash trim and glove box door. By no means am I looking for a show boat, just looking to keep the value in what I have.

I'm sorry to hear you're having such trouble. When I needed some parts for my '97 Larson a few years ago I called the local Larson dealer. I told him what I wanted and he had them shipped to me. I'm surprised that isn't working for you.
Have you tried called Larson dealers, especially ones that have been in business for a long time? They may have what you need lying around in their inventory.

Thanks KD. I have tried that. Started in Wisconsin and then moved on to other states. Obviously haven't tried everyone in the yellowpages but haven't had any luck in Texas, Florida, or Kansas.
