2000 Mercruiser 3.0 Cracked block

I have a 2000 Bayliner Capri 19ft with a Mercruiser 3.0 that has a 6" long crack on the engine block right below the head. There is no water getting in the oil but a small amount is getting in the #3 cylinder. A local shop said they can Lock N Stich the block and the water getting in the cylinder sounds like a cracked manifold. Is it worth repairing the block and replacing the manifold or just replacing the whole engine?

the problem is that it might work . . . or might not. Then what.

Ayuh,.... That's a sensitive area of the block that don't like that repair,...
It throws the top of the block out of alignment...
And,...
That's a reasonably common motor, 'n not worth the effort...
