2000 Mercury 20 hp can I make bigger

I just picked up a 2000 merc 20 hp today. I was wounding if I could make it a 25,30,or even a 35 with some simple changes. I do have 1999 25hp merc on my other boat and it seems more than 5hp bigger than this one if that makes since.

Feed it fast food and doughnuts. It won't be any faster, but it will be bigger.

What are the "simple changes" you're talking about?

They should look identical except for a few cowling changes. The only differece is carb size, so to make your 20 a 25 you need to change carb, part #1390-817405T23

yes they look identical except the 20 and 25 sticker. I will check the carb. Thank you!

What are the "simple changes" you're talking about?

Carb change. Jet change. prop change. Anything that I could change to make my 20hp a 25hp or 30hp without changing powerheads. Merc. did make a 20 and 25 so I wouldn't think there would be alot to change for 5 more hp.
