Hey guys, this will be my first post. I really appreciate this site and any help that may come.
I have a 2000 30hp merc (2stroke, 2cyl). I purchased the motor a few weeks ago, and I am not sure how long it was stored. The motor ran on the muffs and for the first 2 minutes at the lake great. Once I got the motor on plane it stalled like it ran out of gas. It would start back up and run fine at idle, then upon trying to accelerate it would stall again. I figured some trash clogged the high speed jet in the carb, so I packed up and took it home. I pulled the carb and it was absolutley spotless!
What next??? There is some sort of electric choke/enricher that I am suspect of. It is not your typical (close the butterfly choke), and I am not sure how it works, or if it works? any ideas or suggestions?

I forgot to mention:
I made sure the bulb was firm, and I tried to pump while accelerating and no change, so I dont think it is a fuel pump issue. The fuel tank is vented so I am not concerned with vapor lock either...
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! :D

I took the boat back out today and it ran much better. I guess I blew something out of the carb and did not realize it. The motor now runs just a little rough at idle. I am sure that I did not put the jet just right after I cleaned the carb. Is there a good rule of thumb where to start?
