Right now the boat has a 23 pitch prop on it. i am not sure of the diameter. i just dont think this is the best prop for the boat. it doesnt come out of the water like it should. ran yesterday and at WOT trimmed out the boat is running right at about 4100-4200rpm at 40-42 considering the water conditions. yesterday was a little rough. when i ran that it was with just me in the boat. but with a friend in it it seems about the same. ive pulled 2 tubes with this boat with 2-3 people in the boat which i thought was doing pretty good but after reading on here how i am not in my target rpm i believe i can get better. what i have read on here seems a few people with the same boat and setup are running 19 pitch props. my worries dropping from a 23 to a 19 will put me out of my rpm range. but i was thinking of going to a 19 4 blade to keep in range. i want my whole shot to be about as good as it can be with as close to 40mph we can get. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

My buddy has a similar boat - same engine - he did not like the 4 blade 19P he got - The 23 is definately a speed prop for that set up.

I would recommend a 18 or 19P - should be a good general use (pulling) prop.

Before doing a prop change you may want to be sure the motor is in excellent tune.
timed right and advancing as it should.Throttle plates opening all the way.
A 10 year old boat a compression check may be in order.Note the position and condition of the plugs.23 is generally a speed prop.Dropping to a 19 will add about 600 to 800 rpm and vastly improve hole shot as with any prop change watch the rpm.If the 23 is normally on that boat it should run near the top of its rpm range.
