How long did the build take?
The Starfire 190 restoration took about 4 months.
What was your motivation to start the build?
My motivation was I wanted to upgrade the looks and functionality of the boat it was 14 years old and kind of dated to that period.
How many builds have you completed?
To date my son and I have completed 15 rebuilds, all documented here on iboats.
Was this your favourite build?
I enjoyed all the rebuilds but I would say that the starfire 190 was my favourite.
What was the easiest part?
The easiest part was watching my son paint the boat, LOL.
What was the hardest part?
I couldn't really tell you just offhand what was the hardest part.
What finishing products did you use? (gel coat, carpet, seats, etc.)
We used all new carpeting, vinyl flooring, new seats and pedestals, new hardware, latches,cup holders 12v sockets, grab handles, stereo and speakers, SS horn, repainted the dashes from sand to black, repainted the exterior topside from green to black, all new decals.
Where was the first splash? (lake, ocean, etc.)
Our first splash was on the Red River here in Winnipeg.
What was your best reaction?
Our best reaction was that a person at the boat launch thought it was a new boat.
