I am thinking about purchasing a used boat with a 2000 Yamaha 115 and have a few questions:
What would be considered good compression numbers?
What RPMs should it be turning at WOT?
Would around 350 hours of use be a lot for this motor?
Are there any know problems with this model I should be aware of?
Any input on this particular motor, good or bad, would be appreciated.

Re: 2000 Yamaha 115 ?

Around 120 psi is a good ballpark, but the main thing is that they are within 10% of each other. 350 hours is not a lot of time if it has been maintained properly. Look at the lower unit gear lube, if it looks black and smells burnt, you know that it has been lacking in maintenance. If it is milky (water in oil) that's obviously an issue. If it looks suspiciously clean, be wary of that as well.

Not really any known issues with that motor other than the ones caused by neglect (carbs, water pump, gearcase lube, salt\corrosion).

As far as full throttle operating range, I don't know right off hand, probably 5k-6k.

I do not have the model #, but I am pretty sure it is the carbed 2 stroke.
