Hello

I am having an issue with one of my engines that has me perplexed. For a while now I have been having a trim and tilt issue where apparently my fluid has leaked out while the boat was sitting. I have been able to fill it and use it for a week or so, but it still ends up leaking and becoming unusable. I now think that I have narrowed the leak down to the resivour cap and have installed an o-ring behind it which seems to be holding.

Currently, I believe that I have a lot of air in the system and am waiting for the air to rise so that I can put some more fluid in.

The question: I have recently noticed that this engine (port) is a lot more unstable than the starboard engine. When I grab the bottom of the starboard engine and yank up, it doesn't move and feels heavy like it is "locked" into place. When I grab the port engine and yank, it bounces up and down like it is not "locked" into place like the starboard. Does this indicate something is still wrong with the trim/tilt system?

I let the engine sit in the up position for a couple hours. Now when I hit the switch, nothing happens. I cant get it to go up or down, but the motor is running.
