If you prop. it to turn 5500 minimum, 6000 maximum, with a light load @WOT (wide open throttle), you'll be good.

They'll spin higher, with no issues, but that's a good target.

Thanks Cause I just boat my boat it has twin 2001 Johnson 115hp and just switched to SS props. The original props were aluminum 13x19 the switch to SS were 13x17. I wanted to know the max RPM to see if props were ok. So cruising at 5000 should be fine.

What's more important is the WOT rpm.....what is that at now with the new props?? As DJ said, I would want to be in the 5500 to 6000 range. 5000 is too low, if it is the WOT rpm.

The best propeller size for your boat and engine combination is based on the recommended operating range at WOT for your engine, which you will find in your operator's manual.

The goal in prop selection is to determine what propeller style and size will maximize performance for your boat, while allowing your engine to operate in the recommended RPM range. The correct propeller will prevent the engine from over-revving, yet allow it to reach the minimum RPM where maximum horsepower is produced.

Once your wide open throttle RPM falls within the recommended range of the engine manufacturer, you have a propeller that is suited correctly for your boat with respect to RPM.
