2001 130 Salt Water series Forward control issue Please help :-)

The trim button on my throttle lever works intermittently for both up and down. Its FINE works 100% if I use the switch on the cowling.

Sounds like I have a wiring issue somewhere along the lines?

Where should I start? Does anyone have any diagrams or insight on the harness or any plugs that the tillt/trim are connected to from the throttle lever?

look for a plug with a green, blue and red wire after the controller (it may not have one) then look under the motor cowling for a plug with the green, blue and red which goes to a box near the air intake cover (may have 5 pins but it should be the only small black plug from the boat to the motor). Unplug and clean then replug any connections found then test.
