2001 250 FICHT Question

My Volunteer Fire Dept just purchased a used 2001 250 Evinrude. The seller included an oil tank, and the wiring harness.

I have rigged motors, before, HOWEVER my questions are

Does anyone have a few copies or can fax us the pages of the rigging guide,
How do you prime the oil system
Any specifics on the oil for the oil injection.

What do we need to know to make sure this is done correctly since we are mounting in-house and want to do this ASAP

We did not get a check system gauge etc, so we will need to know if this is mandatory right away or we can install in a few weeks

Why not ask your local BRP Evinrude dealer for a copy of the rigging guide? If the Ficht is like the E-Tecs, the system check gauge is req'd. BTW, because the engine is direct injected, you must use the oil injection system (you cannot use premix, or you will destroy the motor).

You might want to consider getting an OEM (not third party) shop manual.

Regarding oil, I would use BRP XD50, since it will keep carbon build up under control.

By all means get the rigging guide and the OEM factory service manual. Explains all you need to know. Also follow what Wilde1 said.
