No sensor on that model. It uses a thermoswitch. Switch closes when the motor gets too hot.

Pink wire connected to the thermoswitch at one end and to the CDI at the other end.

Disconnect the pink wire from the thermoswitch. Hold the pink wire terminal to a good ground point. Horn should sound. Motor should go into RPM reduction mode.

according to that wiring diagram, that pink wire should tie into a Grey and pink.
so look for that maybe

and it shows a diode in the system before it heads to the CDI, so I am not sure tying into another random pink wire would be a good idea

That is the same diagram I have so it sure looks like I can splice into the pink wire going into the CDI. I will try it and let you know what happens. It runs really good and does not overheat. I was concerned if it did overheat I would not have the alarm. I just wanted to check with the Pros before I fixed it. Thanks for your input Tim

do you have gauges to tell you what is causing the alarm and RPM limit?
if so without the diode in place separating the oil and over temp, you may not get the proper indication.

at least that is what I think the diode if for
