im using a second portable moeller tank with gas that i will be getting tomorrow. just seems weird that the tank/ hose i have been using was working fine with my 50/35 jet two weeks ago. I did find some nasty fuel lines while replacing them, but there was no crud in the filters. it also seems like the fuel just stops having enough volume to feed the top carb at WOT, but quickly recovers after dropping down to idle. Part of me wonders if its possibly the primer bulb having issues, because even if you simply pump the primer bulb one single time, after 2 seconds, it jumps back up to 5900 rpm. I assume two seconds would be the amount of time it takes for the fuel pumps to pump the fuel back up to the carbs?

Also, in the event this doesnt fix it, and i order a new fuel pump, do i order for the port pump and bypass the starboard, or order the starboard and bypass the port pump? or does it matter?

Fuel pumps are run by crankcase compression.------A cylinder compression test does not indicate if crankcase compression is poor.-----Have seen issues with the plastic seal rings on the crankshaft !

Bad compression on the cylinder that feeds the pump inlet would indicate that crankcase compression may be a problem.
Great, forums under maintenance later today, lets hope its an upgrade this time. good luck to them, i thought they had given up

You said you started having issue after you ran the tank dry. The hoses can breakdown due to excessive alcohol in the lines. Anything more than 10% is bad. Yours sounds very intermittent issue normally if you have to squeeze the primer bulb the pump is already dead or dying and one squeeze doesn't cut it.

new fuel lines and primer bulbs seemed to have fixed the problem. Ran 6 miles this evening and it never bogged down.
