2001 Johnson 40 electric star, when you turn the key the oil light stays on and will not turn over?

shifter in neutral...
can you hear the selenoid click
battery terminals clean and tight ? battery charged and ready to work ??
new problem or new motor ??

Just getting ready for the season, 2001 power trim works, clean battery

50:1 for premixers or premix for VRO testing.

Motor should be run on 50:1 , so if it has been run on 100:1 all bets are off.

After checking again there is a second switch on the motor that operates the starting. But after chatting with you guys made me look alot closer. Thanks

You really need at least a parts manual for that motor -- enables you to identify parts. "second switch on the motor that operates the starting" is not coherent imo.
