I finally got my boat and after only 3 times out in it I'm so pleased with it. I purchased a 2001 Magnum 165 CS with Yamaha 80hp 4 stroke. Here is a list of things I was hoping some of you could help me with.

1) Owners manual with electrical diagram for boat
2) what to use to clean the carpets
3) would putting one of the hydro fins on the motor help me?
4) how to fix the seal on the live well
5) How to get the post out of the bases ( stuck bad )

Thanks
Lee

1) contact Alumacraft directly for your specifics, my manual is very generic and not of much help.
3)you said you are pleased, what is wrong? As a rule, the only time I have ever heard of those hydrofoils helping is when a boat is running very poorly. Look into smart tabs.
4) Which seal? The thru hull fittings?

Re: 2001 Magnum 165 CS

I was wondering if I would get better performance and gas usage with the fin on the lower unit.

I've contacted Alumacraft and they haven't emailed or returned my phone call as of yet.

The seal in the large one that stops the water from splashing out the top lid.

I've had a chance to use the livewell and I've noticed that the fish aren't staying alive long, I was wondering if I put in an air rator just for the livewell so it keeps circulating just that water if that would help?

Regardless what you add to the boat or engine, you will not increase fuel economy enough to pay for whatever it is you added. Unless you have a specific handling issue, hydrofoils are not needed nor advised (regardless what the advertising says). In fact they can cause some handling issues under certain circumstances. If you feel stern lift is needed, there are far better solutions for that -- Smart Tabs are just one. As for the seat post removal, a slight tap with a rubber mallet loosens them. As for the boat schematic, you will likely find one does not exist. Boat manufacturers generally don't publish them.

Check out your local hardware store for some weather stripping.

It seems to me there is a lip on mine, perhaps a piece of rubber from an automotive trunk/door seal may work.

lmnich;1467050 I've had a chance to use the livewell and I've noticed that the fish aren't staying alive long said:
On mine, the fill pump is the aerator pump. once the well is full, the excess goes out the overflow. Also, I had a few fish die in my livewell so I closed the valve on the front well and only use the back one. Now I fill faster and have more flow for aeration. I don't know if you have two livewells, but this worked for me.
