Well, just starting a new thread to follow up on our experience with the results from our current aluminum prop 14.5 X19. We went with Jestors suggestion on a 15.5 X 17 aluminum prop. Got her from Iboats and had great service and delivery so far. The weather here in North Carolina is teasing us with 60's near 70 during the day but still dipping in low 30's so havn't been able to test it out yet.....but soon and I will post the results. Last post was our 2001 Maxum 2300 SR bowrider carbed 250 HP Alpha One Gen 2, 4200# dry weight no tabs. Two on board and half tank of fuel and saw 4400 max RPM outdrive trimmed best and about 46 MPH GPS. Looking to get closer to book max of 4800 to benefit her over the entire RPM spectrum with our usual load of family of 5, friends and lots of stuff :) Did not do WOT with this configuration but cannot be any better than just the two of us. Feeling like we are slightly over propped for our "normal load". These forums have helped us many times and would like to give back if at all possible.

Well the NC weather is beautiful !! I took her out of hibernation today. We were on a calm lake two adults and half tank of gas. I only took a quick notice of the numbers and will get more accurate numbers for you probably next week. Saw about 4700 RPM and about 43 on the speedo not GPS. Planing seems a little better no big difference. Overall I did get my RPM's up and with only a little dip in speed :) I do believe the numbers are not as big seeing that I am not only moving down in pitch but went with a larger prop. Next time out I will get better info and see how she does in tighter turns where the other prop would cavitate or ventilate which ever it is.

Well no go on a second run due to weather and work which both seem to get in the way of our fun :) I did install Smart Tabs on her so the next results will be void on this thread for the new prop. I am starting a new thread under "Smart Tabs on larger boat" done lost O lookin' on this with very little hits. Seems that 99.9% of info and pictures are on boats up to 19 feet :( I hope I see good things after violating my transom :)
Thanks
