I just purchased a 2001 sea hunt 175 express with a 2001 yamaha 115 2 stroke. I am having issues with my tachometer. I replaced the tach and it works but only when the engine is turned to the right. Once it is center or turned left the tach cuts out. I have found that when i move the harness that goes into the engine it makes the tach cut on but i have to hold it a certain way or it will cut back out. I checked the plug where the harness connects to the engine and it is good with no corrosion. Is there a common location where the wire could have broken? if so can i just cut into the harness and repair the wire or do I need to get a whole new harness?
