Quick question concerning small 4 stroke outboards.
Went out to scout a couple of potential duck hunting spots and had motor issues 15 minutes into the journey. My motor stopped "spitting" water and over heated. no biggie. ill replace the water pump since I've verified the line is not clogged. My question is this though. During all this, my oil light also came on and I noticed several drops of oil inside the housing directly below the air intake. The small air intake housing is also saturated with oil. Anyone know how that could be? It's not smoking when its running at all. I dont understand how oil could back up through the carb. Oil level is fine. thoughts?
