ot556519 no power to key at all , on motor there is a fuse holder with 4 fuses , the 20 amp fuse that is for main power relay, remote control harness and power trim has no power to either side of fuse with key on, nor does another 20 amp fuse for ignition coils.the other 2 fuses get power. battery's are charged, all connections cleaned on battery and on motor positive and negative. it did start 2 times but dies after soon after , once about 2 minutes , 2nd time 10 seconds like a kill switch was pulled. any ideas, I changed ignition switch. the first time it started was with old switch 2nd time with new switch

You have a corrosion issue. The red/purple should connect to a main breaker and on other side of breaker should be the battery cable. Remove and clean the connections, along with battery cables, including ground side

that wire I already cleaned , so still nothing, i'm thinking kill switch circuit or neutral safety switch, so coming out of my remote are 3 wires together, then 2 other wires yellow wires red stripe, 1 rubbed through outer casing but did not break wire, right were it goes into remote so it would have grounded, is there a fuse for those wires ? also I don't have a kill lanyard on this boat ( new to me) but I know it has a kill circuit . I have a factory service manual but there's no mention of it . help!!!

Red/Purple (main power) feeds power to key switch thru a 20 amp fuse

Purple (ignition power) from key goes to kill switch then to coil and other things on the motor

Yellow/Red (start) from the key switch thru neutral safety to slave relay then to starter solenoid

If kill switch connection is broken there is no power to the motor. The starter can be jumped as you did but no power to coil and suck so it doesn't start

If neutral safety switch connection is broken then there will be power to the motor but key will not be able to start motor. The starter can be jumped as you did and if done motor will run

You have a problem getting power to key and back to motor OR and bad ground (Grounds are important)

thanks for reply , I have no juice to that 20 amp fuse on motor, I have real mercury service manual and it states that fuse is for main power relay, remote control harness and power trim, and the one next to is for coils as in post one, but why is there no juice? I take it there should be power there with key on. we will figure this out !!!

No juice should be the easiest to find. Trace backwards and find where it stops.

Red should be battery 12V without a fuse
Red/Purple should be 12V after a main breaker or fuse
Red/Purple after main breaker goes thru a 20 amp fuse to Key switch

The main power relay (MPR) and the ignition key should have 12V full time so long as battery and battery switch (if installed) is turned ON/Connected

When key is turned ON, the MPR will energize which then sends 12V to the other fuses

now this crazy., I put 12 gal. of gas in and it started right up, i did not try to start it before I put gas in.I let it run for 6 mins. shut it off for 2 mins. and started again and ran for another 5 mins I shut it down for about 1/2 hour and it started again.I didn't do anything since yesterday when I couldn't get it to crank over and no juice to key switch. boats don't have a low fuel safety do they ? motor is on a 1989 grady white overnighter with a 60 gal tank that's new to me Thanks Alldodge I 'll keep reporting how it goes,

Either way shes running some time to go have some fun
