Gonna be stripping the block to get a new sleeve put in. So I have the seloc but it is very very generic. Has anyone done this before and can give me or point me to a rough Dismantle procedure? Like for example does the flywheel need to come off etc.. That sort of thing. I need to supply the shop the split block with crank attached. Any tips or links would be awesome. I did a search but couldn't find anything.

As Racer posted motor must completely disassembled and is empty, shop cannot sleeve with crank installed. Why does it need a sleeve? Get a OEM manual and use the Seloc manual for anything besides repairng motor...

Been looking for a factory manual. The piston melted. I thought that it was the injector but I sent it and the computer away to get checked and they both came back fine. No codes showing any faults. I thought maybe ring pin but it was still there. The piston hit what I assume is a transfer port and broke about a half an inch chunk off. The place I called basically the only place that still works on these said to supply the block with the crank attached. Another place I called said pull the crank. I guess the only culprit left is oil? I will test the oil manifold once I get things put back together but there was oil in the line supplying that cylinder. Reeds look good. No visible wear or damage. I didn't get an overheat alarm when it went just loss of power and the noise of something broken. That's sort of why I originally figured ring pin once I got the injector back. Prhap fuel will drain and replace the fuel filter and water separator before running. I can attach some pictures tomorrow if you think it would help diagnose the issue. Regardless it will need a sleeve and piston/rings etc..

No Title

Here are some pictures. When I took the head off the top ring was bent up and smashed up in the cylinder.

Thanks, That's what I was hoping was the issue. Will be pulling it apart this week if it doesn't rain. I was glad that when I sent the Fuel system out that it tested fine. Should I strip everything while the powerhead is still mounted or strip it on a bench? I may just pull the block and pay them to strip it. What pistons would you recommend weisco? Also should I Hone the other cylinders at all? The motor only has 280 hours on it. There was something else I wanted to ask but it just slipped my mind as I started to type. Oh yah, The reeds. They all look good and sit flush is there any value in swapping them out for some aftermarket ones like boyesson? Thee boat was plenty fast enough was running 76mph with a 28 pitch prop on a 20.5 foot bass boat and it got on plane great.. I mean more power is great but just wondering if there is any benefit in in cleaning up the exhaust and intake ports etc.. I heard these blocks are bad casts for slag and cast marks and yes they seem to be pretty bad. also should I level off the ports on the cylinder with the block port walls etc.. I mean its gonna be all apart so I'm just wanting to do what I can while it is apart.
