Do I need to purchase battery cables from the engine to the battery from Yamaha? Or, can I use any type of battery cables?

Is there something wrong with the battery cables that came with the engine?<br />The original cables are part of the wiring harness but if they have been damaged I see no reason why you can't replace with any good quality (same size) after market cables.

That's just it, I recently purchased a Remote Control, 703 Series and it came with one 10 Pin Wiring harness only. It appears to plug into the engine. Is there another wiring harness which included the battery cables and connections for the guages, etc.? Thanks for your help, I'm trying to get to the bottom of this.

yes there is another harness from the 4 wire pigtail on the box to the gauge package and a trim/oil warning harness as well. try to get or look at a 2004 rigging guide and it will show you all the part numbers.

Ah, so that explains what that pig tail is. Will that be the same wiring harness for the battery cables? Thanks for all your help.
