2002 BF8D Won't start

We were out trolling and the motor was running fine then it just up and died and wouldn't start. We figured it must be fuel or spark related. I was going to rebuild the carb but the main screws were corroded from salt water and one broke when trying to remove it. Purchased a new carb from the dealer and put it on. Bought a new 3 gal gas tank and fuel lines so the kicker has it's own little tank now instead of running off the main tank. Installed a new fuel filter. Checked spark on both plugs and it is jumping a 1/2" gap. Pulled the fuel pump and it seams to be working just fine. Tried spraying starting fluid into the carb and it won't even sputter. Pulled the plugs and they are basically dry. I am at a loss and thought I would see if anyone has any other ideas to try before taking it into the dealer.
