2002 mer 150 efi alarm and run problem.HELP!

thanks to any who can help...just purchased,ran for 45 min fine,then got 4 beeps every 2 min,determined that a warning that eng oil reservior low.checked,was full and feeding.had 50 gal fuel,so dumped in 2 qts oil 4 a little safety,unplugged alarm ,ran in to dock,checked wires etc,went back out,would not turn over 2800.try to turn any higher will shut down.does this engine comp have a "safe mode"?does not miss up to 2800 rpm.thanks very much.

THE OIL TANK UNDER THE COWL..... IS IT FULL 100% TO THE TOP??? iF ITS LOW A ALARM WILL SOUND.. IF IT'S FULL UNPLUS THE LT BLUE SENDER WIRES ON THE MOTOR TANK..& SEE IF IT GOES AWAY... SOUNDS LIKE YOUR MOTOR iS IN GUARDIAN,,, & YES THAT WILL LIMIT YOUR RPMS iF SO.... a DEALER WITH A DDT CAN VERIFY THE ALARM & CLEAR IT AFTER THE REPAIR HAS BEEN MADE...

thanks for the reply,yes it is full to the top,i unplugged the wires and still got the 4 alarm e/two seconds.sounds like i gotta go to the dealer,prob is they tell me reg ddt wont diagnose,this has smartcraft controls but not gauges.any ideas?no way to test otherwise,is there?thanks,ben

I'm Not sure wich efi/ ign system you have.... it's been a while... Find your screw on water filter under the cowl.> there is a brown wire attached to the filter.. unplug it.. If it's gone change the filter.. i'll look @ the shop friday & see what system you have.... may not be able to post for a few days... 3 day weekend..

had a friend bring otc and it at 20 percent power,changed filter and fuel sensor,same alarm,110 hours on engine,no one locally has this oil sensor,all i can do is idle around at 1800 rpm or so.mem day w/e.this sucks that u cannot delete code out of guardian mode.have more trouble with the sensors than the system.but thanks,let me know if anything pops to mind.(other than tying it to the anchor line).ben

according to The manuel i looked in.. you have the old style fuel inj... ( big black EFI box on the front of the motor.. look twaRDS the bottom of the big box.. there will be a small nbalck box with a red light.. if the light is on.. c you have water in the fuel.. this type of system doesn't have guardian... if this does not look as i described... you have the newer efi.. with guardian.. I will be gone for a few days.. I see how you did in a few days...

thanks for the reply,i do have the new style with the big plenum on front.i replaced the oil sensor,same prob.then found out the tank assm comes with sensor,replaced the oil res assembly,viola.runs good and beep is gone.many thanks 4 your assist.ben
