Hello, I was out today (nailed 2 huge Yellow's by the way, 30lbs+ each) and on the way back in, I was running at 4,000-4,400 RPM's and my engine started to sputter (as if it was going to cut out) after about 1 hour of running time. It did this off and on for about 2 min, then I stopped for about 10min. After I started it again, those symptoms never came back.

Has this ever happened to anyone else? Does anyone have any input on this, it was really wierd. I only have 310 hours on the engine....thanks.

Forgot to ad, my batteries are really weak and does not hold a charge well, would this have anyting to do with it?

You need to charge your batteries up or buy new ones that hold their charge well as the EFI needs a good 12v power source to run properly. If it drops below a certain voltage it will sputter and lose power like it is going to shut down.

This happened to my DF90 (2001) with only 130 hours. Turned out to be the spark plugs. These motors foul the plugs easily, especially if you were trolling or running a low rpm for a period of time. just replace the plugs and your problem will probably be gone. Good Luck.

Thanks for the reply...I pulled the plugs and they "looked" ok, would I be able to tell if they were fouled? Or is a fouled plug something you cannot physically see? I cleaned them and re-gapped.
