I have a pontoon boat with a 2003 Mercury 60 hp 4 stroke big foot, information on the engine:#60elptefi s/n ot626768
The issue I have is that when it is cold, the motor will rev up like it should, as it gets warm, the RPMs slowly come down to about 1000 rpm regardless of throttle position. Last year I had a similar problem and ended up solving it by replacing a short piece of fuel hose located in the fuel pump on the passenger side of the engine. The ethonal had eaten away at the rubber. On the outside of the pump that I replaced the hose is USB-1 1362.
Question - Did Mercury have a recall on one of the fuel pumps? On a previous post someone had stated that the engine has a low pressure and high pressure fuel pump.
I added stabil and seafoam this year before storing along with trying to use only the "good" gas that is non reformulated.
I would like to simply get an upgraded fuel pump to solve the problem once and for all.
Any help would be appreciated.
thanks
Scott
