I am on the verge of purchasing a 2003 Funship with roughly 92 hours on the FI 5.0. I guess I am posting here to see if anyone has anything negative or words of caution to say about this boat? The boat is in great physical shape, but has no papers stating its previous maintenance. It has a Bravo 1 drive.

I have not driven a "deckboat" as of yet and am curious if I would be completely dissapointed with its handling capabilities. The primary use for the boat would be to pull tubes, possibly knee-boards and some skiing. Normal use would see two adults and two small children with occasional friends / adults. The boat has a seating capacity of 13 people so I don't think size will be a issue with this boat.

Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks

i have a 23 ft Chris Craft Deckboat, with 5.7 VP SX drive, absolutely love it. the 5.0 with the Bravo will be fine. Deckboats handle almost like bowriders, just more deck space. they are a super all round use boat. we do water sports, fishing and diving of ours.

What size of Funship is it?.
If it is a 234 then you want a 5.7 since it is a big boat.
You would be ok with 5.0 on 214 as long as it has a Merc Bravo III or VP DP drive.
Fun ship is a great Family boat and handles water very well.

Sorry for leaving out that importing piece of info - It is a 214. I am hoping to drive it this evening to get a feel for it, but otherwise I am use to running my 18.5 bass boat.

I have the same chris craft deckboat as Tashas Daddy, the Funship is basically the same boat as the Chris Chraft Sport Deck (I believe Genmar aquired the molds after OMC went belly up and continues the line)

I think the Sport Deck / Funship is the best all around fun party boat out there. You can party, do watersports, host a bunch of people and still go 50 mph.

All around awesome vessels Go For It - provided you have verified all systems are in working order and in good repair
