Looking to replace the plugs in my Johnson outboard. Since I am relatively new to boating, where do I find the correct plug for my engine? My dad knows boat motors so he said if I just get the plug(s) he will help me swap them out.

Champion QL78YC, gapped at 0.030", are the correct plugs

If you do not have a local supplier you can get them from iBoats

Is Champion the only brand you can buy for that motor? Does NGK not have a high quality plug?

Champion are the recommended brand

Engines with VRO or oil metering systems should use inductively suppressed plugs ( Q = inductive suppression)

AFAIK there is not a direct NGK equivalent BPZ8HS-10 or BPZ7HS-10 are probably the nearest ( Z= inductively suppressed)
