I am new to outboard repair. I have pulled the LU with no problems. I have filings in lower unit oil. Should I try to access the gears with Seloc instrutions or get a Pro to do it? I don't have any special tools. About how much will it cost to have gears replaced by a mechanic? This is a good motor and I don't know what happened, but it is too good to junk. Must have a leak as the oil was milky. Oh yea, and it was knocking pretty bad when I pulled it out of the water.
