Hi,

I have a 2003 Mercury 200 (2 stroke /carbureted). Serial number: OT63093

I’m trying to install a pressure gauge and I need to know the appropriate location to tap in for water pressure monitoring on this engine.

I’m not sure if I should just “T” the hose on top of the block (tat one goes to the popped valve) or maybe use the fitting in the water jacket (please see pictures).

Thanks!

Lou

Guessing the plugged line coming off the tee is used to feed the gauge

Im sorry. I don’t understand that diagram. Do you know where should I tap in or connect the fitting to read the water pressure.
Im trying to add a water pressure gauge to the motor. It doesn’t come with it.
Thanks!

Bottom of the motor, between the cylinder heads, below the bottom right side coil as viewed from the back. Water pressure fitting comes off the motor. Should already have a tee with a orange plug.

I ordered a new kit from scamazon for like 15 bucks because mine was leaking a bit.

In the image the line leaving the tee on the left goes to the sensor, the line leaving the tee on the right goes to the gauge.

I see it. But mine has only one hose coming out of it. It goes out of the engine with the wiring and fuel/gas hoses but it’s plugged. See pics.

I tried to connect my new hose to that plastic fittings but my hose is too thin.
Do you recommend any way to attach it. Maybe Amazon sells the fittings or connectors.
Thanks!

Do you see the thin gray hose down there? That’s what I have on my engine (only one hose that comes out to the transom and it’s plugged.. I wonder if that’s supposed to connect to a sensor.

My motor had the same orange plug, I removed it and added the parts you see coming out of the right side of the tee in my image.

I needed to add that brass fitting so there was a larger barb for the gauge hose. You can see it is thicker than the original hard plastic hoses.

The brass fitting for the water hose from the motor is in the kit from scamazon and the larger barbed fitting was in the kit with the gauge.

If your motor doesn't have a water pressure sensor then you won't need a tee only need to install the brass fittings so the hose to gauge will fit.

Don't know if the link will post but I bought this:
